The Hummingbird Project: Human Trafficking is a project designed to raise awareness about human trafficking in the Bay Area. This site contains interviews of people from the Bay Area who are part of the fight to end trafficking.
Why the hummingbird?
The name "The Hummingbird Project" was inspired by Wangari Maathai's story about a hummingbird who tries to fight a forest fire by itself, while all the other animals stand by. It says, "I'm doing the best I can." We know that this project won't end human trafficking, but we're doing the best we can. We too will be hummingbirds.
